| Personally, I'd recommend Lego Technic. With such model making equipment you can construct the principles behind models more quickly, which reveals problems in the design that you cannot experience on paper. When finished take a digital photo like I do and put it on record as yet another glorious failure. Then de-construct the parts for a fresh idea.
