Re: Besslers prime mover and its enabler.

Have a look at the Wesley Gary motor. 1879

I haven't had a try at replicating this one, but it does seem quite plausible.
Date wise it probably preceeds the scammers!

Re: Might somebody clarify please?

I see a black horizontal axle. When in rotation (ends of red rod coming in and out of the screen /page) I would expect the angled beam in B to try to align to that in A. The force involved would lead to a bending of the black axle if it was not stong enough to withstand it, and/or a fracture of the ...

Re: Preparing To Go "Full Bessler".

When I'm having a "doubting session" I think about all the time, effort, and billions that
are being spent on trying to achieve nuclear fusion.

They don't appear to be "a few days away" either!

What we are trying to do with limited resources is no less worthy.

Re: Tips for using the new forum

Hi Mr Tim

I had this problem initially.
I found my "Forum" bookmark was still on http.
Changing to https (re-bookmarked when logged in) solved it for me.
Using Firefox browser.

Hi Fletcher

After reading your post I typed "avi to gif" in Google's search box.

An extraordinary amount of online converters offered....

Might be worth having a look?

Hi Wubbly

Working in degrees I think it will be:

D = 180 - ( 1/2 (180 - (360/N)))

re: Gearing MoIs

Hi Gregory
Then V(0) - V(-1) will be my change in speed, aka acceleration, so A(0) or A(-1), right?
Wouldn't your choosing of dA instead of dt mean the change in velocity
cannot be called acceleration as that quantity is time dependent?

Hi Mr V

Hmm.....don't forget that Bessler's wheels ran without any external fixtures being connected.

re: Flippin' Flywheels

Hi Mr V

The lower pulley would direct the force to keep the wheel firmly in the support bearings.

I think it is purely for this reason, as it would have been unacceptable to have had a sideways pull.

.....much better for stability

re: Gravity assisted Normal Energy

Here you are KAS.

Just noticed when viewing the video that the weight has bent the
support bar when hitting the book! So it is a little out of position.

re: Gravity assisted Normal Energy

Hi KAS With the ramp level the weight and roller take up a position nearer to the end as it does with the semi-circle version. As the ramp is raised the cam rolls to the new position. For lower ramp angles than 20 the weight is going uphill. At 20 it is horizontal path and above 20 degrees it starts...

re: Gravity assisted Normal Energy

Hi KAS,ME,Fletcher I persevered with the spiral cam roller I wanted to try. It proved more difficult to make than I originally thought but I managed to get a profile that followed my template with reasonable accuracy. I needed to put a support bar to position the weight at the spiral origin position...

re: Gravity assisted Normal Energy

KAS and to All My apologies if I gave you the impression that I am casting doubts on the enterprise. You may have misunderstood my "pursuit" remark. Actually I have spent many more hours working towards the straight line model. I was questioning whether this was still needed or if the sims...
