Here's a nice video on pumped hydro energy storage.

re: Pi Memorization
I didn't really use any sort of mnemonic in my memorization, but it seems my recall of the digits does rely a bit on the sound and flow of the numbers as I recite them. When I have to slow down to type the digits, it throws me off some, and I often have to repeat sections. It's almost like the seque...

re: Pi Memorization
I decided this morning to test myself to see if I could still remember pi to 250 digits. ...and I was successful! That's possibly after two months or more without having refreshed my memory, too. I was a little slow in getting all the digits typed out so that I could check them, I tend to do better ...

re: Gravity related youtube videos.
Here's another video on the World Science Festival channel. It's a panel discussion about gravity that's about an hour and a half long. I've not yet watched it, I'm downloading it now, but it looks like it may cover some interesting things. "Coming to Grips With Gravity" https://www.youtub...

re: Recommended Youtube Channel
I thought I would go ahead and list a few other youtube channels that I really like. These guys are ones that are heavy into doing their own experimentation and they usually cover the accepted science that is involved pretty well, too. re: The nature of gravity.
I just happened to stumble upon agor95's Crookes radiometer video last night when looking for science related youtube channels. Amazingly, I still have the radiometer I bought when I was kid. Near 40 years without breaking it! Maybe it is magic! I saw a video where a guy stuck the vanes of one in a ...

re: Parts directly from China
Hey Cloud Camper, I heard about that the other day. I wonder how quickly the changes will happen, then? I've noticed that there are Chinese sellers now with warehouses in the U.S., so apparently they do enough business that it may pay for them to just ship their stuff here in bulk in advance anyway....

Re: re: Recommended Youtube Channel
Reads: I've only seen a few of the channel's videos so far, but I have to admit I'm already smitten. I may have a huge man crush, even! I think you'll understand once you see! Thinks: Pfft, right!! A few hours later, after taking a needed break from the first couple of videos: ....DANG !! The video...

re: Recommended Youtube Channel
You're welcome! I knew some of you would understand! ...and sorry I didn't respond earlier. I've just been feeling a bit yuckier than usual. Anyway, I've made it through a little over a third of his videos and I've not been disappointed yet. Well, except for maybe with one video in which he had some...

Recommended Youtube Channel
I thought I would give this one its own thread. Though it is not directly Bessler related, I felt those here who do their own builds and experimentation and who have, or at least want, their own lab and workshop might find it inspiring. I've only seen a few of the channel's videos so far, but I have...

re: Parts directly from China
Since we discussed lithium ion batteries in this thread, I thought I would mention this here. I finally found my missing battery - my 18650 unprotected lithium ion cell! ...and in the dryer in the laundromat after it had been both washed and dried with my blue jeans! ...lol I thought, "OH NO! I...

re: Parts directly from China
Got it! The digitizer came packed in a "Styrofoam" block that had a rather large indentation in the side of it, though, apparently due to some rough handling during shipment. Amazingly, however, the touch screen seems to have survived. The indentation in the polystyrene appeared to be deep...

re: Parts directly from China
Well, I didn't get my package this past week, but the tracking information shows that it arrived at a USPS distribution center that is about 60 miles or so from me this morning. That means I most likely will get my digitizer tomorrow (Monday) afternoon. So, that will be a shipping time of about two ...

re: Parts directly from China
According to the tracking information, my package is now already in a United States Postal Service facility in New York City. So, unless there really is some sort of inspection hold up, I suspect I should have my digitizer by the end of the week. I ordered the thing late on a Friday and so it wasn't...

re: Parts directly from China
Hey Cloud Camper, Maybe so. I would think, though, that the attention a package gets may depend a lot on the actual origin of the shipment. The people doing the inspecting probably have from experience a pretty good idea as to what to expect from certain locations/shippers - like whether the items a...
