Hi Ant,

"well done", it is looking good and hope it works, if not drive it, it will look fantastic when it rotating!

With much respect Trevor

Successfully presented the device, and the principle of operation under the name of an Artificial Gravity Well at a star trek fan event. It was held on the 6th April 2013, called Dawn of the Federation and held at Leicester's National Space Center.

The principle is easy to understand.

Stand, stretch your arms in front of you, bring both hands to your chest elbows to the side like scissors, you will need to adjust to stop yourself falling back.

As with the pictured device. The waves now only need to oscillate 1/2 inch for the required 30 degree forced rotation.

The pendulum will oscillate 1 inch to account for movement.

DotF Presentation Sheets.

Stargrail presents

Y NOT NA (a Romulan ambassador)

Presenting the principles of:
- Cwantum Cubes
- Cubic Magic Squares &
- Mechanical Gravity Well

After sheets were displayed with a little chat the Pythagorean Triangle triangled badge I had made for the occasion. And still have a few left up for grabs.
I then manually showed the AGW principle and explained the addition of the T pendulum.

A Star Trek friend after feeling the torque of the axle as I manually operated it suggested I contact Institute of Engineering and Technology. I am awaiting a return call from their representative in Scotland.

The wave at 12:30 is knocked back with a pendulum aka Besslers wheel. The pendulum will be made to oscillate 1 inch. To knock a wave guide 1/2 inch. That is all that is needed/

On the way home I showed the prototype to the engineer, who made the hub. He saw the operation and torque in the hub when manually operated, I explained the pendulum and the Pythagorean origin, he added looks like you know what to do next. He agreed with where I was going to site the pendulum with the addition of a 12 pointed cam. He congratulated me and added after accepting a gold Pythagorean triangle triangled, 'I thought that was disproved long ago'.

Have had the solution to Bessler's Wheel approximately monthly for over 30 years ! But next month is "The One" !

Although I have yet to put the pendulum on it, it look likes the whole thing is based on a magic 60 squared with a start number of -1799 or 0.5 in each square which = a triangle. The minimum may be 8 waves(3^2), but one thing at a time.

At the next trek event perhaps, looking from the balcony at the after DotF party they know how to enjoy themselves.

Happy viewing. The weight on axle is 4oz under 5lb.

Waves stripped of excess guides. New close bars fitted to the mechanism to solve a problem with fully closing wave, the tips yet to be reinforced. (The wood sliders at the bottom of the wave only fully closed the bottom half of the wave, the top half was slightly ajar). This adjustment has significantly increased the mechanisms forced rotation. Blank cam in place ready for tracing then cutting. It's still belief at the moment.

Here is the old closer http://youtu.be/2LDH0KPxNd4

For those interested I will add a clip of the new closer when its light.

The closer upgrade.

http://youtu.be/UeZcTj_qj-8

This is manual manipulation of 4 waves. This is not the minimum energy. There needs quite a bit of energy to maintain the speed, Near 5 pounds of lifting force is available at the axle to drive a cam device to clip the 4 waves... I am going for a slower speed, The cam device I have decided to use close one wave at a time. Once finished should produce an Artificial Gravity Well, a slow self rotating wheel.

The cam solution.

Obviously not in the exact place it supposed to be. However, It gives an idea on how the cam mechanism has been solved.

The 3 Peg cog will be rotated by a belt from the axle, this will turn the cog. The cog will rotate to close the new closer crating a slow rotation after an initial 'push'.

Edit
Oh the rotation of the 3 peg cog, will be 4 rotations to 1 rotation and rotate the opposite way to the main wheel.
