Actually, no, we're not doing too well over here. We could have hundreds dead, about 26 billion USD in damage, and a sudden drop off in about 25% of the USA's daily oil supply.
Katrina's damage is now much worse than was anticipated and it could take months to get things back to normal. They are now saying that it could be the worst storm to ever hit the USA!

There are those who understand and appreciate God's viewpoint on the matter....as He was the one that gave them fair warning with Ivan....and it was New Orlean's response, one largely borne of spiritual and moral bankruptcy that fomented this disaster.
As one of the most corrupt cities in our country, I pray that those with ears to hear and eyes to see had left the area long before Katrina.
God's standards of judgement are not fickle and shallow like man's...and to judge Him by our own, is to invite His education on the matter.

Let us send these greedy, profiteering 'Bastards' to Baghdad and Afghanistan to show our Soldiers the faces of their true commanders.....and let them judge their fate.
Peace and God help us 'with a little help',

| Quote: | | I have friends in New Orleans - good people. Everthing they own is under 9 feet of water. The last thing they need at the moment is some medi-evil idiot trying to tell them that the reason they are suffering is because a god is unhappy. |
Your pre-supposition that I am 'trying to tell them' anything at this time, is incorrect. If you are forwarding this message, then let your actions rest with you and me with mine.
If I recall, that is the same juvenile reaction you displayed last year at around this time...."curse the messenger".
God or no god.....Ovyyus, Your convenient dismissal of one of the pre-eminent lessons of history does not lessen it's impact.
That lesson being, namely, that good people suffer for the actions of bad ones, all the time.
Your reckless allusion that I must somehow enjoy the suffering of others is not lost on me, nor He who now raises His left hand against a wicked world.
If indeed, God visited New Orleans with a whirlwind, then why not "Sin City" "Babylon on the Hudson" and other areas? What is to come of the 'mightiest empire' the world has ever seen? In quick succession, the world will see His reproving hand at work......I for one, will not be surprised if He soon visits "Sin City" with a whirlwind, or two. Just as I was not surprised to see the drought faced by the 'bread basket of America this year.....as well as the massive dust clouds yet ahead, to be seen across the land, making twilight of noon for a variety of cities in our nation.
Indeed, If I enjoyed the suffering of people, why would I be moved to warn them ahead of time against what has been transcribed against them?
It was the same back in Jonah's day.....He was moved to warn the city of Nineveh, they repented and were spared. They quickly forgot the grace shown them and went back to their iniquities and were devastated a year later.

It was written that during the days in which we live, many would be seeking a sign and that none would be given them but the sign of Jonah. There is many a witness to this 'sign' of our times.....His gracious warnings abound to those who are not too haughty, stubborn and 'high minded' to see.
The Tsunami in Sri Lanka was foretold a year before it took place....a warning to all the pedophiles and child slave masters there.....God does not do a work without informing His children to dispense warning. That such fall upon largely deaf ears is foretold as well.
It is for men like you as well, Ovyyus, that He soon shakes the foundations of the world.....that some whose hearts and minds still hope to realize His Truth, be dislodged from their precarious and rebellious dispositions.
Only in a truly upside down world does one call good, evil and evil, good.
And warning people about a very real danger, is only evil to a rebellious mind.
God bless America? God forgive America, for what she is doing to herself and much of the world in His name!
She has sown the wind and is reaping the whirlwind.
GOD bless,
TS

As sleepy pointed out, we don't really need you or your god to warn us that a hurricane is coming, they've been preparing for this one for years, they just didn't know when it would be.
Unfortunately, many of the people of New Orleans don't own a car, so they had no way to get out. Some thought it they could just wait it out. Either way, we can probably be sure that the disaster was not a judgement on the people, I find it hard to believe that of the 250-300 thousand folks there, there was not one good person. And what about the trio of Australian vacationers I saw waiting in line outside the Superdome (talk about bad timing)?
Also, I wondered the same as sleepy, they have to rebuild the towns every couple of years, why does anyone live there? Of course there is a lot of fishing, trade, and tourism, so when they're not destroyed I guess they are making enough profit that it balances out the damages. It'd seem to me that they'd quit making houses out of wood though.
Michael, since Techstuff didn't say anything to you, I guess I will. As I understand it, the Bible says that God created the universe, and people, perfectly. But He doesn't want us to love Him because He made us that way, He wants us to want to love Him. So He gave us free will so that we could choose to love him or not. It also says in the Bible, that if we willingly reject God, then we willingly accept evil, and accept the imperfection that comes with that decision. Therefore, He blames us for choosing to be imperfect.
