As you all probably know, Bessler had like a million different jobs, and he learned stuff from all those jobs to create Perpetual motion, right? So you people can just post some of his jobs and something that he would of probably used in his wheel.
Bessler was a clock maker, and here a web site that gives you the basics of a pendulum, weight wound clock.

I think that Bessler's wheel worked by using a pulley system that could self wind itself 1 revolution every revolution the wheel made. I would show a drawing of this, but i don't know how to post pictures, so if someone can tell me that would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Flywheel!!
If you want to post pictures you need:
1. Resize the picture to about 800x600px;
2. Save as *.jpg or *.gif format;
3. In the posting screen choose "browse" in "filename" field, find requested file. The name of attached file will appear in the window.
That's all
Enjoy!

re: Vocations
Thanks!
But after looking over my design i relized it wouldn't work because everything would get tied up in a knot! xD

Flywheel...
Designs with ropes can be a headache to model. Mainly there is the problem of what to do when the tension on a rope due to shifting weights suddenly drops to zero and the rope becomes slack. I'm staying away from ropes for the time being and just concentrating on designs that use weights, levers, stops, and springs.

On 7/6/06, I found, in any overbalanced gravity wheel with rotation rate, ω, axle to CG distance d, and CG dip angle φ, the average vertical velocity of its drive weights is downward and given by:
Vaver = -2(√2)πdωcosφ
Vaver = -2(√2)πdωcosφ

Anyway I encourage you to post your design, even if you consider it worthless.Even if you have an idea that you know is unworkable, then it can still be of value if you post a quick screenshot of it for your fellow members to peruse. Any design, even one that you feel is useless, might trigger an idea for a different design in another member which could lead to success. And that's one of the main reasons we all come here...to expand our experience of the subject and, hopefully, thereby get some new ideas for designs to try.

re: Vocations
srry i didn't reply before, i was on vacation.
well here's the best i could draw it, there still some things i didn't solve though.
The two big pulleys are always locked (they are fixed and just act like pegs) until they reach a certain position at the top and they unlock for a time like a second, unravaling and pulling the heavier weight up. This is the thing i can't figure out how to do. There would be 4 of my picture each postioned at right angles and on different planes.
When the pulleys are locked they would wind up 1 revolution when the main big wheel spins one revolution.
Btw: I'm not sure the picture will show or whatever because this is my first post with a picture.
