Hi Grimer,

I use an ipad 3G when on the road and away from an internet connection.
If you have a spare $65, spring for the Bluetooth keyboard if you don't already have one. These greatly enhance the ability to input.

Thanks for the tip, Unbalanced, but I'm always close to my computer. I only posted with the iPad as an experiment.

I suppose it could be useful for keeping in touch with the forum if I ever get a blue screen of death.

The main use for the iPad will be to lever my grandchildren away from my computer when they want to watch Shaun the Sheep.

My 3-yo grand daughters call my ipad the "Big Phone" as opposed to my iphone. They use it more than anyone especially for games and watching the likes of Shaun the Sheep. Incredible how quickly they picked up on manipulating that thing.
