Dan
In referance to your "moving" comment, i made comment in the "speculations" thread and was refering to accelerating. The wheel will not always be accelerating but in the instance we were discussing at the time a wheel in rotation in always accelerating away from the point where it just was even if the speed is constant. Reference frame and time are very important. The effects of the force that you see in the video above are NOT the same as you would see in an accelerating referance frame. The first video on page one shows a RRF under the initial impetus of a forced rotation.
Kaine,
Anytime any force is applied to a wheel or referance frame that has pendulums attached it will cause them to try and sync. IE odd sympathy. The pendulums themselves are creating this force normally and will sync in their own due time depending on the enviroments forces working against them. It has been my observation that any sudden force, such as snap crackle pop(sarcasm font) or jerk to the system as a whole forces a shared directionality to the system and facilitates syncing. In the first video i swing the pendulums and then add impetus to the RRF, when i add this impetus the pendulums immediately react to it. But since they have a certain amount of PE that i gave to them before rotating the wheel they stay in motion. There are good times and bad times to do everything.

Quality work, and never a waste. I think that Ralph spreads himself to thin across to many forums and to many projects to be able to remember all of what happens here over the years. I don't belong to any other forums because i don't understand them. :)DrWhat wrote:Ralph you can look at my ALBUMS to see some early (an now patently wasteful) builds.

Is that a postal address you want , how could , giving your postal address and name over the internet protect confidentiality .rlortie wrote:
You did not send me your address or your full surname which is and always has been a standing rule of mine to protect your confidentiality.
Do you think emails and pms over the internet are private ! I don't think so .
re: Ralphs Basting Brush and Pendulum Wheel
Ealadha, what Ralph is saying is that you need to provide your real name and a real email address in order to get a real response. Seems a fair request.

Daan, Damion & Tars,
The key term here was IIRC first mentioned by Scott. The word is 'Sympathetic' and no I do not mean by letting me cry on your shoulder!
Sympathetic is produced in one body by transmissions of vibrations of the same frequency of another body. Synchronization brought to a state of resonance. We are all aware of what resonance is capable of.
Dave and I both agree that it is likely few here will possess both the skills and resources to build such a device. I also admit that due to commitments with my working pardners I cannot divulge fully our findings at this point.
My only motive here is to attempt to get people away from speculation and hypothetical trivia and spend more time on fundamental research!
A pendulum will become weightless at its apex with the pivot in motion, The duration of weightlessness is simply cut short. (hint) while the pendulum is rising adjacent to it also rising pivot, What effect in properties do you think this will apply to the wheel. For that matter what will it exhibit when falling as the wheel is no longer picking it up!
For sympathetic resonance the wheel must be broken into quadrants and then again for each plane of weights. A wheel can be made thick or thin governed by two properties, either more planes or different size weights.
Damian, I have not visited the album section in quite some time (years) other than to confirm that what is posted in 'Gravity Solutions Group' does not show up for unregistered visitors. I will take a long look at your Album for a remembrance update.

Guilty as charged!!!! Good example is my battle with first names verses Pseudonyms. I started dropping forums two weeks ago. Did not help much as I now have an increase in Pm from said forums.FunWithGravity2 wrote:Quality work, and never a waste. I just wanted to know if he was willing to share with me , but i don't have much interest in the principle he is talking about .ovyyus wrote:Ealadha, what Ralph is saying is that you need to provide your real name and a real email address in order to get a real response. Seems a fair request.
There was a working wheel on the internet ,years ago , more than 10 years ago , it was two weights on the wheel , there were videos of it working , people had it going .
I am surprised it has never been discussed on this forum .
Why is that ?
Why always unworkable devices posted on the forum ?
But nothing that works .
Why !
re: Ralphs Basting Brush and Pendulum Wheel
Ealadha, if you weren't interested then why did you ask? Odd.
There have been many claims of 'working wheels' over the years, including claims of successful replication. They tend to collapse under more careful scrutiny. Please post the specifics of this so-called working wheel from 10 years ago.

It was sent to 'Frederic Lauzon' at 6:27 PM Pacific Standard time Nov, 11 2011 (yesterday!)
If you did not give me a valid address then I guess it is lost... Checked your junk mail folder lately?
Normally I would not put your name in here, but dammit I don't like the image of not keeping my word, I sent it!

I'm not saying you're not keeping your word, it's just that I sent you 2 emails these last days and didn't get a reply, simply wondering what's going on!
Don't worry about that ralph!
Anyways, I checked my junk mail and I don't see anything from you.
What is the image size?
Maybe it's too big and needs to be compressed or you may have a mistake in my email address.
Anyways, sorry it wasn't meant to make you look like you don't keep your word!

Hmm.. Looks like something isn't right in my emails, some of my emails have been moved to the trash folder, mainly sent emails that were sent to you..
Honestly, this is fishy, I'm going to see who's playing with my emails..
**Edit : Looks like thunderbird (my email software) pushes my emails to the trash folder when they are sent.. So it's normal.
Sorry for the misunderstanding tho.
