The top picture here http://alphaplanets.com/principle looks somewhat like a counter-balance arm on a construction crane.
..
The puzzling part is the background does NOT show a sea port or high rise city construction project. What are they doing with a crane in a rural area?

And how is it that this picture does not look like any of the other pictures?

I do not see any counter-balance arm on a construction crane. Fact is; I do not see any pictures! All I see is computer composites and animation. I do not think anything you see here is for real.

The first two videos under the Projects section appear to be real.

In the animation at the top of the page shows a red looking box or counter weight going down. This is assuming that it is the initial draw to start the spinning. Then it looks more like fly wheeling to me.
