In the simplest form, a wheel could be a bar on a axle. Were one to place a flower pot on each side and fill with moist earth so the device was in balance, and put in one pot some weed, in the other a radish (Raphanus sativus), the differnce in growth rates, lifespan and time to decomposition into humus would get you a full turn. Maybe more. A radish grows in about 15 days.
