Hi all,may be the reason we have not got there yet is because we are looking in the wrong place ,Bessler said when you can cause a 1/4 to lift a lb then you have done it ,well i have tried as i am sure many of you have but to no avail.
So what about the reverse a lb lifting a 1/4,this seems a lot easier than the opposite,i have been thinking about the bells he mentioned ,if you look at them from underneath there is a weight just hanging there now turn it on its side and the weight is at the bottom edge now connect the top of the bell to a back plate on the wheel holding the bell in position and rotate the wheel now you have a rotating weight that can release its weight on to a frame work and lift a 1/4 with a lb, the good aspect of this approach is that rotating weight only creates a very low negative torque weight lose on the wheel but once in motion the momentum is high ,it also fits with the knocking noise on the fall side and not on the lift side but best of all it never reaches a point of rest and if the frame work setting in front of it is arranged properly then 1/4 will lift and the lb will lift as well ,nothing ever reaches a point of rest.Sorry about the way this has been written i am still learning to type, all the best Andy ps the weights could be held by springs from the back plate,

Hi there,

About the bell, a lot of bells are wheel mounted with counterweights or some thing, you have to pull a rope to set the bell wheel in motion to make the bell ring, I am not sure about your design but the bell and wheel needs to be looked at in more detail, thanks for bringing it to our attention.

Regards Trevor

Hi rasselasss, the actual leaver on this design is short it causes the heavier weight to be lifted, imagine a heavy weight rotating in a bell for simplicity and under the bell at the 3 oclock is a framework that the weight from the bell rests on, the frame work moves down and the 1/4 lifts up creating a downward force at the same time the lb weight is being lifted because it can not reach a point of rest with the lower face of the bell, however the weight can reach the same distance from the center, making it in actual fact heavier because it is higher,so both weights are higher neither reaches a point of rest whilst in rotation, i believe this sort of approach will solve the problem ,constant motion has to occur, from everything theres no other way to get energy out,in my humble opinion.

This is also for Trevor lyn whatford,ps i was glad to here you sail,i have a micro plus 501 at folkestone i fish for bass with her,let me know if your sailing by one day .Best to all Andy
