Christy Moore ( Lisdoonvarna)
In general, it has the same kind of answer as applies to our noble quest for Perpetual Motion.
To get to a definitive answer, a lot of factors have to align perfectly fine:
You usually can tell on how you get received, your willingness to stay, the general appreciation of your presence, the natural freedom to leave, and off course what you think of the return.

Everyone experiences things at different levels and has different reasons for being here, yet even that may change from time to time. But, be welcome...

The immediately following version by the Eagles of ' Hotel California ' in your link gave me 'flashbacks ' to the movie !

One of those movies that I had a great deal of trouble understanding but stuck to me for years .

Something similar to the forum ?

Maybe the Bessler solution is on the horizon with AI .

Quote . --- " For Dr Neely, the mysterious physics behind the neural network's technique "is one of the other interesting things about this work".
"Because it turns out that this crazy way works so well, it means something is going on with the atoms that we currently don't understand." "

Quote Dr Robitaille :-

"Kirchoffs Law is not correct , ----- what happens when a law of physics is not correct ? --and we have built all of modern physics upon it ? .Thats a problem !

....Because of Kirchoff's Law , Planck's equation has never been linked to the physical world "

Hmm - That is a problem ! : )

Yes , - I think our days will soon be numbered if AI keeps developing at this pace !

Quotes from the article below :-

1. "A landmark for artificial intelligence was achieved in 1997 when Deep Blue defeated the human world chess champion (1). Computer chess programs continued to progress steadily beyond human level in the following two decades. These programs evaluate positions by using handcrafted features and carefully tuned weights, constructed by strong human players and programmers, combined with a high-performance alpha-beta search that expands a vast search tree by using a large number of clever heuristics and domain-specific adaptations.

2 "AlphaZero replaces the handcrafted knowledge and domain-specific augmentations used in traditional game-playing programs with deep neural networks, a general-purpose reinforcement learning algorithm, and a general-purpose tree search algorithm."

3" Each search consists of a series of simulated games of self-play...."

4. "Starting from random play and given no domain knowledge except the game rules, AlphaZero convincingly defeated a world champion program in the games of chess and shogi (Japanese chess), as well as Go.

http://science.sciencemag.org/content/3 ... siteid=sci

---------------

Now thats scary ! After 4 hours that generalised games program was able to beat the state of the art chess playing computer program after only 4 hours of self training ! Thats a level as high as the best world chess grand masters who took a lifetime to reach grand master standard .

And it taught itself ! given only the rules of the game !

How long will it take one of those programs to reach our admitedly very high standard of Bessler Wheel Gamesplaying ?

The only thing that may probably give us an edge is if we don't give it the right rules to play by ! : )

I think as long as AI is limited to being essentially a brain in a vat, we won't have too much to worry about. We just need to make sure, then, that we don't give it the ability to move about in the world where it could wreak havoc!

Sometimes I get worried about things I really shouldn't !

When I try and access your links my normally cooperative computer just brings 'em up , - but for the one above , it tells me that it can't make a secure link !

Hmm,

Uh oh! The AI is on to us!

I'm using an older version of Linux with an older browser, so I've been having lots of trouble with the secure connection thing myself. It seems more and more sites are using the https rather than the http, and I don't seem to have all the necessary certificates with my old setup.

I can boot into some newer versions of Linux with newer software and browsers, but they don't seem to be as streamlined as this older setup. If I really really think I need to see a website, I will sometimes go to the bother. ...argh, but I'm just putting off the inevitable permanent move. I currently have to reboot to pay some of my utility bills.

Here are two alternate youtube links that should be the same video. Maybe one of these will work for you.

Looks like the problem is something to do with my end .

I can't access either of those OR any of the other UTube links on this page which were ok before .

I'll try again tomorrow morning .

----

Just tried again , and can now get through on all three of your links .

Looks like this nascent AI program I have (Windows 10 ) is in cahoots with its cohorts at my "server" and are having fun at my expense again .

Thanks for taking the trouble though to try and work that out .

I could use a computer dog like that in the video . Would he have a USB connecting cable so I can hook him up to my computer and get Windows and the Servers to behave themselves ?

I'm just heading off on my Xmas break right now for the next week so I shall be unplugging all my AI devices - I suppose they deserve a break from me too ! : )

Have a good Xmas everybody , and get ready for a good 2019

There have been a few youtube videos that my youtube-dl program couldn't download. I don't really know the reason for that, but I thought that maybe your problem could have been due to specific videos, too . ...though it makes sense that if it was a secure connection problem, maybe there was a temporary glitch connecting you with all of youtube.

It rained here most all day yesterday and my phone line went out in the afternoon. I've had my telephone line cut out like this several times before, almost always when it was raining. My DSL line went with it. After about 16 hours I've just gotten back online, though the internet connection is running slow. I still don't have a dial tone on my phone - just a little noise.

I've had to have the phone company come out and repair my line quite a few times now. So, I may have to do another online repair ticket later today if the phone dial tone doesn't come back.

To give the phone more time to come back, I am risking losing my internet connection again, so I'll probably not physically mess with the line any. When the phone is acting up like this, it is usually much harder to reconnect to my DSL than to keep the connection.

I'd hate to have to go find a pay phone again to report my phone problem. The nearest used to be about 2.5 miles away, but it has disappeared. I think the next closest remaining pay phone is about 9 miles from here.

As much as I use the internet, it is a strange feeling not to be able to check the forum or look things up when I have the urge - which apparently is pretty often. I tried fighting through my withdrawal symptoms by getting a few things done, at least, like patching some holes in my jeans. I don't have an iron for the iron on patch material, so I heated up my hammer with my propane torch and used that. ...lol

Oh, there is an episode of the British program Black Mirror that has some robot guard dogs that look quite a bit like the "Spot Mini." In it they are tracking people down and trying to kill them.

Anyway, have a nice break and Merry Christmas.

LoL, that's a good one !!

Quote, according to the video-description:
-- "We've found a great resource to uncover deep truths" --

We are so immensely glad that we have these blokes to save us from that "poisoning of our minds" and instead feed it with their immense wonders of post-truth beyond everyone's comprehension (inclusive)... Lucky that they are in control and we have them to explain the unnatural hexagons of nature: *cough* https://youtu.be/Pypd_yKGYpA?t=3 *cough*

Ah well, they're welcome in our country. They are welcome in the city of Amsterdam (et al.). Perhaps we should consider limiting the access to this so called "resource" a bit.
