Hi johannesbender

I want member to see and appreciate your model in a wire frame format.

Just for the aesthetics that would be missed by non-blender users.

sure , here is an unaltered basic version before i modified and reduced polygons , but this one needs to be sized correctly.

I have used blender a little. I used it to create models for 3d printing. My designs are quite basic though. I lack the commitment to learn and retain the skills for complex modelling and animation.

Your skill building the buzzsaw is impressive! I have had some difficulty getting gears the way I want them in the past. Next time I need something modeled I should come to you Agor.

Well this is a team initiative were a blender model is converted to a web based presentation.

I like your self fined learning blender hard; however it is worth while.

This is the YouTube help I am using at this time.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KyjSnak3Yjo

Most of my time is learning how too explain, understand and implement ways to communicate.

So taking a Blender Model then web publishing is were I am at.

Have you a blender model for publishing?

check your user preferences , then look at addons/plugins , select all the addons you want included in blender .

like under the meshes catagory you will find extra mesh creation addons that can create gears and bolts and stuff.

look at all catagories for extras you think you need , simply check mark them to enable them , theres a bunch.

if there is anything else you want , simply google for blender addons.

easy peasy.
Its all relative.

I look forward to you checking out these 'add-ons'.

I will look at them later.

Blender has it's place in many 3D contexts.

To get the most out of the product you really have to put some work into building your skills. However you get a lot back in return.

Also you need a PC that can work with the product. It is good to get the Graphics Processing Unit & CPU multi core available.

What I find useful is to create in Blender a base wireframe model then converting it into a web page.

The animation/simulation of movement can be achieved either within the page. Or were that needs to much processing then separately.
The web page plays the results back to illustrate the expected movement.

It would be helpful if a Blender proficient person look at merging the two toys on the 'Toy Page'. That is the first and last MT138 on the left and MT141 on the right.

The basic 3D mesh would be a beam section with half-cylinder ends.
These would pivot at the center and come together like scissors.

Therefore the depth would be half above the middle line then half below.

This would allow the two to totally collapse into each other.

That is the basic form

A form extra to that is to put recesses on the ends for the Jacob's ladder cords.

Also look at replacing the pivot with a Jacob's ladder joint.

Then the component could open up to the other extreme.

p.s. I do not expect these extreme cases will be used.

I think best if you do a sketch. Sometimes a description of something complex becomes confusing.

I have to agree. I can not understand the last confusing description of a 3D Blender mesh.

And I wrote it ?!

At least I have put in some more time using the Blender software.

What a load of B#?llS#?!t.

Hold on those are my posts <:-)

Cough

I have been trying to get my mind around precision blender modelling and at the same time parametric blender modeling.

Can both be done at the same time - Who knows and - Why?

Hi johannesbender

With your skill with Blender; I am wondering have you tried using the Physics functionality within this produce?

I would not recommend it , the implimentation in blender is pretty basic , looks okay but , not meant to be simulation grade.

I spent some time today reviewing Blender's Physics examples.

I can only agree as it creates a lot of complexity The only light is the python language.

Tutorial for sub-millimetre modelling

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZI49VIc ... MakerTales

I am working though the tutorials starting with this one.

It looks like it is possible to create files too instruct a laser cutter to create the flat cross plywood components.
I suppose a CNC Router Table could be instructed in the similar way.
