Oystein,

No problem, I can see the diagram as you typed it in the
textbox at the bottom of the page.

I know you probably don't want to give too much away, but
I don't really understand what the diagram is about.
??

I'm glad you like the site. Let me know if you have any
suggestions for it.

I agree that we can rely pretty heavily on the eyewitnes
accounts in judging the feasibility of a scheme. That
and Maschinen Tractate provide a good focus for our efforts.

I am glad to hear you are working on the mathematical aspects
of this endeavor. The mathematical argument by Biddel Airy
goes something like this:

PM is not possible with the known forces because the expression
Xdx + Ydy + Zdz is integrable "per se."
In other words, the hypothesis of Conservation of Energy holds
for any 3-dimensional field of force - i.e. for space as we
know it. Since the expression above is a complete differential
for all the known forces, PM is incompatible with those forces.

In the above reasoning we presume that the magnitude of the
force acting on a body at any instant depends on the position
of the body at that instant. If however the magnitude of the
force should depend on the position of the body at a prior
instant, then the theorem would no longer be true.

Each time a body returned to the same position, its velocity
could be either higher or lower than the time before. If it
were higher, it would increase until the force of friction
held it constant.

Airy attributes these ideas to Robert Willis. Willis was
studying the human voice organ and did experiments with air
passing over inclined plates. Remember that Bessler
supposedly came upon the secret after working as a pipe organ
apprentice.

All for now,
Best regards from Colorado

: Hi Scott !

: I believed that question would come!
: Cool site by the way, I wish only more drawings etc. where on the net.
:
: In drawings and weighing etc. I can prove it, but not as an complete formula,YET (I have made an formula on this, but I don`t dare to let an mathemathics see it, YET. Have a math and physics professor in the family, that I hope will help me,but I must go gently ahed, not showing PM as a goal, he would laugh his brains out !

: The summary is : Is it possible for an axle/arm to "feel" less weight moving an item from "bottom" to "top" than it originally would feel(or for example moving down on the other side of the wheel)( at low speed). I would say YES !
: If yes, PM there is, as in Besslers wheel.
: My construction will act 100% like Besslers wheel, ref. testemonies etc. even the sound..
: There`s only one thing that don`t fit in, that is the springs.
: I have made a drawing of what I believe is Besslers most advanced mechanism (with 4 armed, wheeled pendlum weights, it would have two spring... NEAT, but I don`t think it would produce any significant more power,
: just more friction.
: (This is by the w
