>>I can't offer an opinion on D.Houle's device since there are no details. I can offer an opinion on the advisability of advertising the fact that you have solved the problem of Bessler's wheel, without having tested your hypothesis before hand with a working model. Don't! It may be that he has indeed discovered how to do it, but in my experience it is amazing how many times you think that you've got it only to discover that you are wrong when it comes to proving it with a working model. I have been there so many times I've lost count and I've also lost count of the number of people who write to me in just the same vein as D. Houle. I want to believe that he has succeeded but caution and experience tells me "wait 'til he's got a working model".

John, please, call me Darren... and yes, I couldn't agree with you more! I've jumped to conclusions in the past only to find out that I had built yet another pefectly balanced wheel. I've been there, maybe not as many times as you, but yes, I've had my share of Eurekas.

I know it makes me look like just another kOUk to make claims without proof, but I really did it for three reasons...

- First, I'll have a running record of my efforts and a bunch of witnesses following along. This will make it a little easier (I hope) to prove that this whole thing was actually my idea, that I did it. I'm not a glory hound or anything but come on, anyone who says they're hunting for the solution purely for the benefit of mankind is full of poop. I don't want to be famous or anything but I'd at least like a *little* credit.

- Second, I have a habit of procrastinating and now that I've published a deadline for myself (July 4th, Independence Day... get it?) and promised Sterling regular updates I have no choice but to get moving. I've put this off for about a year now and so I needed to generate some accountability... now everyone is going to be watching so I can't stall any longer :-)

- And finally, probably the most important reason I published that was... I've been lurking around this site, the free_energy, keeleynet, and GFED lists, etc. for quite a while now, and although there are certainly some serious nutcases out there I've also run across lots of *really* nice people. I'm publishing these updates right from the start so that everyone I've grown to know over the past year or so can share in this.

If you fail then hopefully your friends help you up, and if you succeed then hopefully your friends are there to party with you. Either way I wanted to include everyone. What a sap, huh?

Thanks John, I do appreciate that. To be honest if I hadn't run across Besslerwheel.com a year and a half ago I wouldn't have ever started all this, and if it wasn't for you and all the facts, quotes, and amazing tidbits of information you dug up on Bessler over the years I don't think I would have had the clues I needed to find the answer. I wouldn't be here if it weren't for all the people out there talking, digging, experimenting.... and believing.

Darren
