: What do the rest of you out there in Bessler-land think?

Three things...

First, unless you are 100% sure it was him you really shouldn't take any action against him. IP's are mostly shared nowadays because of community PC's and DHCP so it could have been anyone... one of his friends at school looking over his shoulder or even someone on the same ISP... whatever.

Second, trying to block him would be problematic and if he really wanted to post he could get a message on here no matter what you did. Don't waste your time.

Finally, and most importantly, if we want the priveledge of free speech it needs to extend to everyone, not just those that are polite or that agree with us. It's certainly a shame that there are mean people in the world but I've learned over the years that the very best way to deal with them is to let them talk all they want and just ignore them. That bothers them more than anything else you could possibly do. Don't answer them, don't rebuff them, just look right through them and totally ignore them. They might yell really loudly for a while in an attempt to finally get a rise out of you but they wil eventually go and find someone else to be mean to, someone who will give them satisfaction with a response.
