Davis,
Sorry for the delay in responding to this post. I am not saying that I am 100% sure the wheel did not somehow convert the kinetic energy of the earth. While such a mechanism would be less revolutionary to modern scientific understanding, to me it poses more problems, implementation-wise, than a scheme that converts gravity itself. I don't know. That is why I put together this website! ;)

As for the SMOT ramps, I have never heard of anyone successfully "closing the loop," that is, arranging multiple ramps together so that the ball rolls perpetually. Have you?

Glad to hear you are working on a prototype. I recently added a new item to the "News" section of the homepage, linking to Ronald Classen's prototype of Alfred Avert's Sling and Swing scheme.

There has been much debate about the veracity/importance of remarks about the wheel attributed to Karl. Most agree that the statement about weight being "blocked by pegs that swung out of the way..." were probably invented by Frank Edwards. The remarks are found only in Edward's "Stranger Than Science," and cannot be corroborated by any other documentation. It is generally surmised that Edward's added this tidbit to spice up his story. Every other reference in the world says that Karl kept his oath to Bessler and never uttered a word to anyone about what he had seen, other than to say "it was so simple a carpenter's apprentice could build it."

Best Regards,
Scott

: I agree, the idea that the wheel somehow recieved it's energy from the earths kinetic energy does not seem likely.
: I am now inclined to believe that gravity 'force' may provide the energy, this is based on my work with SMOT ramps, they are very much overunity and can even be made to work perpetually, the energy input comming from the 'force' of magnetism.
: When I posted my previous entry I had only just discovered the Evert fluid/rotor technology site and the excenter-nopp effect described there. The motor is described as having been constructed by a friend of the professors with a modified synchronising gear set up on the wheels, he claims that it runs and that the person who built the working model is currently attempting to get a patent on it. This truely obscure take on perpetual motion uses a combination of the overballencing wheel and the centrapetal acceleration experienced by centralising mass on a rotating object. I am planning on constructing this machine as described, it should proove interesting, although I doubt that the mechanism is what was in Bessler's wheel, the two mechanisms seem similar yet incompatible based on some of Carl's observations.
: What do you think about the counter moment multiplying A-B-A power circuit Bessler wheel desighn suggested on the link 'Leverage-the power of one' like The nopp gear desighn this machine looks promising although I do not think that any working models have been built.
: (Thank you for correcting my mistake on the sling shot effect)
