Hi Derek,
Thanks for your post. I loved your description of somnething from a Dr. Suess book... I have seen such contraptions on my workbench many times!

I would point you to a series of posts on the subject a little while ago:

Hopefully you can find a couple of tips there. Personally, I've found that I need pay my local machine shop to drill the center holes for my wheels, but I can generally do the rest myself with a hand drill.

Best Regards and good luck,
Scott

: Is anybody on this message board in Houston, or Texas for that matter.

: I've designed 3 different models....SIMPLE models and I can't build them. I have limited tools and even less experience to use them. Something as simple as trying to drill a hole requires me to build devices to try and compensate for not have a drill press, so I try to build vices and mounts, and I end up with something that looks like it's out of a Dr. Suess book.

: Has anyone attempted to work with other hobbiests in different interest groups to facilitate the building of their machine. Like getting together with a wood working group?

: Thanks,
: Derek
