Although I do not have a solution to Bessler's wheel,I hear many comments about giving it away for free.I don't know about others but I have spent an inordinate amount of time and money and to find a solution to the supposed imposible and give it away is like hitting the lottery for $100Million and giving it all to charity. In your dreams.
Let's review what happens when you "give it to the public domain:
1. You may make some money from the publicity. Your name will definitely go down in history.
2. Many, many people will build one but I have a feeling that it may take more skill than the ordinary individual has to build it and make it really functional.
3. Some very wealthy CEO's will immediately put their R&D Groups on it and slap as many patents as they can to make money from improvements (will you benefit? NO). The CEO's will only get richer.
4. Some garage shops will start up making wheels but will have to be careful not to infringe on the patents that will be forthcoming. Lawyers will love it.
5. Even if revealed tomorrow, it will take quite some time before it starts to make a dent in oil consumption.
I predicted a solution would be found last year but was wrong. I still feel that one is coming but how it will be introduced should be very carefully considered.
