Well, I suppose if I had the secret to perpetual motion, I might try to keep it for my own advantage as well. The fact that it is such an overwhelming secret, and the fact that almost everyone thinks it is impossible, must give everyone who DOES know the secret a tremendous ego boost. Sigh. Human nature depresses me. If we manage to survive self-destruction within the next 30 years, I'll be mildly surprised.
If you think nuclear weapons are dangerous, wait till you see some of the things they are working on NOW. It's all for the purpose of "national security", of course. Oh well. We'll all die eventually anyway, right? Double sigh. :(
