Hi Darren,

Glad to hear you're getting some help - best of luck to you and the guys.

Regards, ovyyus

: : Hi Darren,

: Hey Ovyyus :-)

: : The thread below, "PartIII (invitation)" kind of finished somewhat up in the air, frustrated and unresolved. I was wondering if you had decided which way to jump with your design yet?

: Actually I had... did you happen to read the end of this message a while back? http://www.besslerwheel.com/wwwboard/messages2/1991.html

: : Sometimes it can be so difficult trying to get things done. I'd be happy to offer an objective point of view if you decide to go that way. Whatever you decide, good luck!

: Thanks! But gosh, I wish you had made that offer earlier.

: I had decided to include others and try to get some help. I felt that I needed to A) have some fresh eyes and unbiased minds evaluate my principle and design to see if it looks valid, and B) if it looks like something that should be prototyped possibly help me with rounding up people who might want to help. Not monetarily wise, but I don't have CAD, CNC, or any of the skills required to prepare a mechanical design for machining.

: Anyway, I've shared out (with a small group of three people) 23 pages detailing my principle and design, an Excel spreadsheet containing all the math and formulas I used, and an animation which shows the motion of the weights and mechanisms.

: They guys are reviewing it now. So far they've been extremely helpful and encouraging. I don't think we've identified any obvious fatal flaws yet, although there is at least one component that involves some fairly interesting math, so that's getting a closer look. Of course *I* am confident that the math is right :-) because I got the equations from an engineer who does that kind of math all the time... but I still want those fresh eyes to check it out :-)

: It's been very interesting writing up those 23 pages, trying to explain what I have. Hopefully we can figure out together whether it's real or not, because I was just a little too close to the problem, if you know what I mean. I lost objectivity and I want to stay objective and skeptical. These guys are helping :-)

: : Regards, ovyyus

: Thanks,
: Darren
