That is an interesting conjecture. Theoretically speaking, the centrifugal forces within a mercury driven device could become VERY large, and could therefore be used as a VERY powerful and VERY compact source of free mechanical energy. I've never seen any evidence for such a device. Furthermore, I think that murcury would completely unecessary and far too dangerous for most uses, but it would certainly be uefull in special situations such as in MILITARY situations, or for use in outer space.

Richard Clem used cooking oil to power his device. Schauberger used air. Others use water. Water tends to boil away, of course, but this is not necesarily a problem if you have a continueous supply of water.
