Hi Fletcher,

As a speed control/govenor mechanism the pendulums were never reported as being used in any of Bessler's demonstrations. Perhaps because he wanted to demonstrate the wheel at it's most impressive - maximum RPM.

While this appears to be the case, every wheel drawing Bessler produced includes depiction of attached pendulums. This has led some researchers to suppose that perhaps there is more to them and that Bessler might have been hinting at something a little more profound. Personally I don't think so, but who knows?

Interestingly, the pendulums depicted in the various drawings show a relatively small mass attached to the pendulum arms. IMO, use of relatively small pendulum mass indicates intended control of an equally small wheel torque, which supports the various historical reports relating to the 'limited power' for their size.

: HI fletcher,

: I asked this same question several months ago and all I got was a reply from John saying it is the pendulums on the main drawings for timming...,yet it sounds like he's stating the working mechanism doesn't it?

: : To all,

: : Last sentence 3rd paragraph ... "through application of pendula, which can be somewhat modified, as the attached figures at the end of this treatise clearly show".

: : can anyone share some light on what & where can I find these "attached figures" so that I can have a look at them ?
