Hi Viper, I'm pretty sure it was Grim, some time ago, who posted that found in JB's estate after his death were 2 good sized loadstones. Always wondered myself if they had a part to play ? But ... JB said "gained force by the swinging of the weights" i.e. gravity only ! ??? I've played around over the years with rare earth permanent magnets. Couldn't find a successful way to shield them or turn them off, unfortunately. Read in an old book somewhere that mica (old rock formation I guess) could partialy shield magnetism. Good luck ! Fletch
