As to me building it, I've had a small breakthrough. It has occured to me before, but in that version of the wheel (the one I drew for you all) the geometry didn't allow for it. It is to use pyramid shapes for the conical gears. They would look like really small versions of the Egyptian pyramids, and the gears they'd have to mesh with would be easy to make. I'm not going to start yet though, just in case I come up with a better arrangment.

: Try not to take this discussion board too seriously. You can't expect to get a flood of interest in your specific ideas since people are always thinking more about their 'own' ideas. You will find other discussion boards much worse in regards to negative, off-topic or just non-sensical comments. It is great to have an idea and to share it with others but remember you are putting yourself in the crosshairs when you do so; just look at the amount of ridicule and accusations that were made about Bessler during his time. Also, please remember the magnitude of what you are attempting to create; this problem has not been solved fo 300 years. Anyway, nobody thinks you're nuts, 'just build it and they will come'.
