: Hi John,

: How are you? Thanks for your post. I noticed that you used the word "workable" instead of "working." It is my understanding that the Patent Office policy is that an application for a PM invention must be accompanied by a "working" device, not merely a design, however "workable" that design might appear.

: Is the device you have in mind "working" or "workable?"

: Best Regards,
: Scott.......
Doing good. I am speaking theoretically here and with humor. I used the word workable since there is a chance you may not want it operating as you walk in the door. After you put it down on a level table, that will be another story. Just kind of wondering what a person would be searching for while doing a patent search since everyone knows nothing like this can exist ;-). Also, why would they insist on a self rotational device working since a lot of good capitalists just as soon take your money one way or the other. If it does work, perhaps this is their opportunity to "put a flag" on the inventor and mechanism.

: : Is a patent search really necessary when applying for a patent, since when you walk into the Patent office with a workable Perpetual Motion machine, they will of course have never seen something like this before. ;) What would you be searching for? Something that isn't there?
