Lurker, glad to see you back again so soon...........I think. ;^) Regarding your discussion of the aformentioned device, (not to mention other more impressive technologies), One has only to look at any patent application to see the source of their "MIB'S" It's there in black and white for all to see with eyes wide open who would seek to "protect" their idea. It is known as the "military use" or "national security" clause in patent law. Simply giving all rights to any invention deemed appropriate, to the good ole NS of A. Look at old Howie Johnson of PMM fame.....who has been living on a blacksburg, V.A. mil base since patenting his motor. Of course, none of this is to dissuade those of you out there who believe that "nothing is more powerful than an idea whose time has come".

I bid you all adeu, alvederzhein, gesundheidt, farewell......

: : Hi Viper,

: : Fosters patent was issued on Nov 11, 1997, not the early 80's.

: : IMO, the media avoid tech-related stuff like the plague simple because of limited public interest in 'intellectual matters'. They love reporting on weeping mothers, illogical politicians and new beauty treatments - anything that involves knee-jerk emotive issues. Show them a working Bessler wheel and I bet they'de be more interested in Stephen Hawkings emotional response than how it works. That's info-tainment for you!

: Foster's patent is only one of many that go way back to the beggining of the patent system. Even if you have a working device, the media won't be interested in it unless they believe that it can be used to make money and it is not a fake. Since the media must rely upon the opinions of expert scientists to judge whether something is a fake or not, they will call the experts for their opinion on the matter. The experts will tell them that it MUST be a fake because it would break the laws of physics if it were not.

: So, it won't go anywhere, and it won't accomplish anything. The inventors can't do anything with their invention unless they have public support. The public won't support the inventors until the inventors prove they are not fakes. The inventors CAN'T prove they aren't fakes untill experts can verify that they are not fakes. Experts won't even TRY to verify the invention because they already believe it is not possible. Those few experts who DO believe it is possible dare not speak too openly for fear of being ridiculed out of a job by their fellow experts.

: Of course, there are more sinister reasons why this will never go anywhere. There are people who know that these things are possible, and they have reasons of their own for not wanting this knowlege to become public. We can only speculate about why they do what they do, but their activities have not gone unnoticed.

: Lurker.
