Hi Will,

Long odds never stopped anyone - not then and certainly not now.

I believe Bessler reasoned out his solution from his acquired experiences. If his subconscious helped put some pieces together, all the better - that's how difficult problem get solved!

IMO, it's insulting to attribute Bessler's solution purely to an act of god - he obviously worked bloody hard for it! It would seem that, in the fullness of time, miracles are eventually replaced with understanding. No offense to the righteously inclined :)

Regards, Bill.

: Bessler knew it was useless to "attempt" the overbalanced wheel because of the long odds against it and having arguably tried more variations than any man before or since. Perhaps his GOD really did reveal it to him making any of his prior attempts on his own seem as they most likely were, close to impossible. Imagine trying to pick the combination to a safe with just 6 numbers, do you know the odds of coming upon it by chance? Bessler did and he was no dummy when it came to math. It is too bad that the vast majority of people in the world cannot recognize a miracle when it is right in front of them, on the other hand maybe it's as it should be. If you were handed the combination to that safe, would you say that you were going to "attempt" opening it? Likely not, as you would assume that success was a given at that point. Assuming all of the heresay regarding Bessler and his invention is true, what does it say about a man so willing to give credit where it was due and then demand a king's ransom for all his years of fruitless frustration? He surely was not asking that price for the free gift of divine revelation which would be treasonous to sell! Bessler was not able to handle what had happened and proved unworthy of the blessing he was given. Perhaps that is the greatest example to be learned from the man.

: Peace
