That's ONE possible explanation. However, if this is true, why does he not come here and tell everyone? He surely must realize that not everyone was convinced that he had the answer anyway?

If you were on his team, that is VERY bad news. I would not call it a team in this case.

It's seems very uncharacteristic of him to say something like that. I will grant that his idea MAY not have worked as he expected, and that this would be a great disapointment to him. However, I still don't see why he doesn't tell everyone here that this is the case.

Now Mike, you have NOT released any personal or secret information, here. You have actually done a public service. After all, it is VERY important that the state of Darren's project become publicly known. As you no doubt know, some of us are a bit on the paranoid side, here. I will hasten to add that such paranoia is NOT entirely unfounded. We cannot know what might have happened to Darren and his project until someone gives us a credible account of what happened.
