How long I did use my porch swing to observe life from a distance when I should have observed more closely the dynamics of such a pastime! I would suspect that the filming of oneself, from the side, using the legs from the knee downward only, just enough to keep themselves swinging,(paying close attention to timing) may reveal much to the one who fails to grasp certain ramifications from the experience itself.

Indeed, when you move your legs to pump a swing, you are inputting energy into the system from the action of your muscles.
