Hi Mike and Grim et al,

I'm not sure abou the wheel being buried. I can see immense difficulties. Bessler needed the proof as early on in his career as possible, i.e. as soon after he had invented the wheel as possible, just in case someone made a claim of priority. But he didn't own any land at that time and he was chiefly interested in selling the secret, so his thoughts would lead him to ponder what way he had of proving priority which was relatively simple and I think that initially anyway, he would get something down on paper which he could have published.

If later he decided to bury a version of the wheel he did not need Karl's help as Karl gave Bessler a house with some land attached around 1726. Bessler designed a tomb where he intended to be buried and personally if there was a message or even the wheel itself I think that is where he would have hidden it.

In anticipation of your question, the house is still standing but the land has disappeared under tarmac and forms part of a car park. The town itself has hardly changed at all and most of the houses built in 1726 are still there.

Your idea about the greedy event is interesting and I'll have to think about that one.

The use of something like the bible code to decode the clues would certainly have to use the original text but when I agreed I was thinking in a general way. In fact I believe that an expert decoder is needed and I wrote a very hamous cipher expert (Kahn) who passed me onto a British expert but he was quite old and semi-retired and could not help as it was such a large project. So any ideas where we go from here?

Kind regards to all

John Collins

: Hi John,

: After I wrote this (I use a library computer) I thought, well if something was buried ( I especially like Grims idea of a whole wheel, maybe both) that he could have buried it anywhere...) Could he have had the aid of the count at this time? If so it could all be within the area the count owned. Also If I were Bessler, I wouldn't limit the clues to just geography. For instance, I know it isn't an exact quote but as an example the line greed is an evil route, I would secretly make to mean a place where a greedy event took place, that rooted itself and something sprange up.

: Wish I lived in Europe, your at a much better location for this research than I am.

: The way he played with words one of three (as in everything belong to one of three kingoms) could mean the the three arrow template with the wheel in the center. The wheel is one, the arrows (geographical places) three. Like a cross has five points, the fifth in the center, could be stated as four of five etc. I'll post more later-I don't have much time on here.

: Mike
