I would agree with that, Michael, and with Ovvyus too. But even though JB was an amateur he was pretty good at drawing so I think that, as ovyyus said, MT is a record and only consists of draft versions of what he intended to publish. The accompanying notes on each of MT's drawings are virtually illegible and therefore definitely not for publication in its present form.

: I would argue that this is possible simply from looking at some of Besslers real images from M.T. They definately are not as refined as Bills versions, and respectively look a little amaturish, taken into account of course that he was an amature artist, and the difficulty of the medium he was using-wood grain etc.
