I'll see what I can do. I know that the board does provide a link on the upper right when you log in which says "View posts since last visit." It uses cookies on the browser to determine when you visited last and then does a search on the new messages. Also, there's a link at the top level of each subject that goes directly to the latest post in that thread. Also, the icons for the threads change to indicate whether there are new posts in that thread.
You do raise a good point, and one of the main reasons I chose phpBB is that it is easy to modify and highly extensible, so I will see what else I can do...

: It's....nice. I've used these types of messages boards before. The only thing I don't like about them is that you have to go to each subject to look at/for all new messages. Any way you can put in a "Today's Messages" or date indexing feature? (TheWarp.net has a good example of this.)
